BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh joins Samajwadi Party

      The UPA government received a major boost in the evening, as BJP MP from Balarampur (Uttar Pradesh), Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh ditched his parent party to join Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party. He has decided to vote in favour of the UPA government.

       Brij Bhushan Singh's defection was confirmed by SP leader Amar Singh at a press conference. Brij Bhushan was also present at the press conference. Amar Singh denied the presence of any rebel MPs within the SP and said that all SP MPs will vote for the government. Amar Singh lashed out at the Left parties and accused them of betrayal.
